Viacon May Buy Bebo

According to this report on the financial times, Viacon might be looking to buy the social networking site Bebo. The report implies that the purchase is in response to Fox's purchase of MySpace.

Viacom lost out to its rival in a bidding war last year for MySpace, now the world’s leading social networking site, when News Corp paid $580m (£304m) for the young company.

As a side, it could be that MySpace has finally peaked. Reports that MySpace is loosing traction as the #1 url on the web are starting to surface. As with all trends, the trendiness eventually wears thin and folks move on. It just takes the next wiz bang thing to draw users away.
